Shooting Sports Club

WHO WE ARE!

Flathead County 4H Shooting sports is a thirty year old 4H club that teaches safety of air rifles, air pistols, archery, shotgun, muzzleloader and small bore pistol and rifle.

WHAT WE DO!

These activities are for all youth from ages nine to eighteen years old. The activities are perfect for youth to not only learn safety, but to also satisfy the natural curiosity about rifles and pistols that all children have. The kids participate in live fire on a ten meter range with 4H certified instructors guiding them through each step of advancement in each discipline.

WHEN DO WE DO THIS!

Presently, there are relays on Monday and Thursday evenings that start in mid November and continue until the end of February for the inside activities. Shotgun and muzzleloader are Springtime activities.

OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES!

  • Everyone will participate in a Montana statewide postal each year where everyone will see how they compete with kids in their age bracket from across Montana. The results are updated and complete at the end of February, with trophies and awards given out.
  • There are several invitational matches around the Montana including at our range. These are an opportunity for kids of 4H age to compete shoulder to shoulder and have fun in this type of competition. Lots of awards are given out at these invitationals.
  • We have a club match on the last day of our season for all of the local kids to compete and earn awards.
  • There is a 4H Shooting Sports State match in March for all Montana4H youth to compete in
